A new year, a new me!

Just Kidding! Same old me. So, I haven't posted for awhile. I've been mad. A lot of things have made me mad lately. I'm getting over this funk. Finally. It's been the best of times, it's been the worst of times. Christmas was good. The kids love Christmas. Lala bawled when we took down the tree. New Years rocked! Literally! We rocked out 2008 on Rock Band and rocked in 2009 the same way. Gotta love Rockband. We had a party and invited some friends and neighbors. The best of times.
Baby has been sick, Lala has been sick. My personal DVD player was taken from the church after the Ward Christmas party, while we were saying goodbye to Bubba and Muffy. (Oz, Bubba and Muffy spent Christmas away this year.) The worst of times. I only had it there so the kids would have something to do while we set up and prepared the dinner. So, after much prayer and loss of sleep I realized I didn't have it in me to quit being mad about it. My Bishop offered me a check out of the blue to cover the loss of the DVD player. I didn't need the check, just the gesture to return my faith in humanity. So, it seems the Lord knew I didn't have it in me to quit being mad. But when the Bishop said I felt like I needed to give this to you, I was shocked. I couldn't take the money, I just needed the gesture to let it go. So, today I am not mad. I gotta say, it feels good.
Kids go back to school tomorrow. I am going to miss them terribly. I am going to miss sleeping in until 10 terribly. A schedule is nice though. We are leaving for Arizona in 5 days. I am so stinking excited.

Happy Thanksgiving

Me before lunch:

Me after lunch:
(Pretty sexy huh? And NO I am not pregnant.)
I won't presume to list all the things in my life that I'm thankful for. It would be long and not much different from any other list out there. I have much gratitude in my heart for many, many things. We had a great day with our darling friends, wonderfully yummy food, and lots of laughs. I guess I can't ask for much more. Except maybe someone to come deal with this:

And this sink is deep.
Dear took the older kids to see Twilight. The girls and I are watching Cinderella again. oh that reminds me, Baby got a hair cut yesterday. Her first haircut, she did wonderfully and the baby mullet is gone forever. YAY!!!

She is so proud of her new haircut. She is such a girl.

Wordy Wednesday

I hate the cold. If the weather drops below 80 degrees I'm freezing. When it is warm I like to stay outside and play. When it gets cold I start getting crafty. It's a little scary. I saw a Thanksgiving banner in a Pottery Barn magazine for $49. I thought, I can so make that. So I went to JoAnnes and Hobby Lobby to buy the supplies I would need. I ended up spending like $80 on the stuff to make it. (Sorry Dear) The saddest part is now I HAVE to make it. So, lesson should be learned, but most likely not.
I made this baby quilt for a nephew who is supposed to be born today. This would be a small project for someone with some skills, for me not so much, but it's done with love right?

Grandma Darling sent these shirts for the little girls, because as Lala says, "She's nice." Life is crazy as usual, no sleep for the weary and all that.....

Oh yeah, and I'd like to give a shout out to the Purple Diva because I won one of her super fantastic contests. She has them all the time and she gives away sweet stuff so get over there and comment.

Shopping, Anyone?

First of all Jeremy is the guy I was rooting for on the Bachelorette.. I know lame. I don't care, it was fun.

Today was unusual because Dear and I both woke up and wanted to go shopping, which NEVER happens. Unfortunately, I wanted to shop for the kids Halloween costumes, Dear wanted to shop for cattle.
So, we went our separate ways. The girls and I (Bubba went to scout camp this weekend, and Oz was with his mom) went to Joannes, and found great stuff 60% off. Then we went to another sewing store, had lunch, went to Sam's, Target, The Dollar Tree, and then we went to a classic car show at the mall, where they happened to be trunk-or-treating! So we put on our costumes and tried them out. We got lots and lots of candy. Then we went to Costco in costume.
Dear went to the Cleaburn Cattle Auction and bought a Red Angus Heifer. Then he went all the way across the Metroplex to Greenville and picked up a Black Angus Bull. Guess who spent more?
Being the lame-o mom I am, I didn't take my camera today. However, I do have one picture of the aftermath.... My little Sleeping Beauty....(I mean Snow White)

Naughty

Baby is now weaned. My guess is she is not too happy about it. She has been very naughty. This morning I ran into the other room to awnser the phone and when I returned found her in the sink with the water on. Needless to say, she was soaked as was my bathroom. I took off her wet jammies and went start a load of laundry.

I returned to find she had taken off her diaper and pooped on the floor. GREAT! So, I showered her and dressed her and went to find the Clorox wipes, (Which are my most favorite cleaning supply) while I was cleaning the floor, she was busy rubbing a black stamp pad all over herself and my living room. Where did she get it? I don't know. I haven't been able to find it. Good times! I have to go before she gets into something else. I really do think she is just mad at me for finally weaning her.

Got Water?

So this morning I'm in the shower and I said, "Oh, %&*#", and Dear says,"Did you say something honey?", and I say, "I forgot to pay the water bill, I better do that today." I finish my shower. I get all the dirty clothes from all over the house, dump them out on the kitchen floor and proceed to sort through umpteen million 10 loads of laundry. I start my first load. I then call the water company and pay my bill. A friend calls and invites me to lunch and I'm off. Stuff happens. I pick up the kids. I wash my car. I take Muffy to Girl Scouts. We get home Muffy gets Lala and Baby undressed for their shower and you guessed it NO WATER! Seriously? I call the water company. The lady was so rude. She was just sad because I had payed it before they shut it off so now they have to come reconnect and I don't have to pay a fee. I mean it's the fourth day of the month people. Take it easy. Anyway, if they don't turn it back on in 20 minutes I will take my kids down to their office and give them a bath in the sink of their bathroom. (If you know me well, you know I will.) I will be very sweet about it though. The very worst part? My kitchen floor-covered in dirty clothes. Good times!
