First Day of School 2009

I don't think anyone slept well last night. We were all excited and nervous. Dear hasn't been sleeping well lately. Today was the first day of trial for him and he's got that on his mind plus working inhuman hours. Not to mention missing the first day of school with the kids.
Lala was at the foot of the bed gagging all night. Muffy was laying next to me. She was too excited to sleep. I think Baby is the only one oblivious to the excitement all around her.
Lala threw up all the way to school and back home. It took a hour in traffic just to get them there on time. And Bubba was late.
On a good note, chances are it will get better. Right? All in all it could have been much worse, I have a new respect for single moms. Dang I love these kids. They sure are fun to have around, and handy little buggers too.

This Is Why......

I've been so busy and stressed out....
My family hasn't had a decent meal this week......
The people at Costco now know my kids names too......
My floors need mopping and the laundry pile is growing .......

I haven't posted or checked any blogs......

Today was our Primary program. I volunteered to make these posters for each one of the kids in our Primary. The Program was great. The kids were wonderful, they always do such a good job. Bubba had a solo part in one of the songs this year. He made me cry a little. The posters turned out so much better than I could have hoped. Also, more work than I bargained for. Today it was worth it all. We always worry.....the practices make you wonder......but they always pull through, and do a great job. I'm so proud of my kids and all the kids in our Primary.
Well, there was this and a couple of Halloween parties too. I'll post pictures of those tomorrow.

tractors

Today, we went to the tractor supply store and we spent a fortune on little John Deere tractors. When I was a kid my brothers and sisters and I had a lot of little tractors and we would set up little farms. I remember playing in the dirt for hours and hours. It was so much fun changing things around "planting crops" and even "crop dusting". The one with the biggest tractor was the "boss man" and the rest of us were farm hands. We had irrigation systems. We had all the equipment necessary to run a real farm. Anyway, we bought farm tractors and the kids had a great time playing and setting up their farm. I had to go help them, of course, but we had a really good time playing in the mud.

Dear took the older kids to buy some chickens today. He came home with 15 chickens, blue wyandottes, and 3 ducks, pekin ducks. I will post pictures later. We got our first egg today. It is worth $120. Hopefully we can keep the bobcats out of the coop this time around. It will be nice to have fresh eggs again. Mom, I know you don't like them. I promise if you come visit I will buy you store bought eggs.

The Darling Kids

The following is a run down of my kids and what they are up to lately:

Oz is 11. He is an all knowing, wise boy who enjoys reading, playing with his brother, and spends what seems like a lot of time at his moms lately. He is a big help around the house. Generally quiet, when he does talk be prepared, it takes him awhile to get out all the words he wants to use. You see, Oz enjoys words. He likes to use words most of us would have to look in a Thesaurus to find. He does very well in school and keeps himself busy making and selling oragami rings on the playground. Oz is a truly nice kid.

Bubba is 9. Bubba,Bubba, Bubba. What can I say, I like this boy. He has most of my bad habits. He is wildly popular with the girls. They call and call and call. He also enjoys reading but would spend his days in front of the T.V. if I would let him. I don't, so he enjoys reading. His teachers love him. He is a very smart, quick minded boy, who loves to make sure everyone gets everything just the way it should be according to him, he is generous and adored by his sisters. Also, Bubba is honest and responsible.

Muffy is 8. She has lots of friends and always champions the underdog. She is a sweet little tomboy and such a joy to have around. Muffy hates cleaning her room. She loves the piano and is quite talented on it. She teaches her little sister songs at night and she taught Lala to count to 10. She never gets into trouble at school, she likes helping in the kitchen, and is very loving. She is shy, but when you get to know her she talks and talks. Muffy enjoys Girl Scouts and gets to go on lots of fun adventures with her troop. She is a wonderful person.

Lala is 2 and a half. Oh my, where do I start? Lala is a handful. Quick as a whip. Precious and a pain. Sweet and mean. Smart. She knows her ABC's and 123's. She knows most of the sounds for each letter. She speaks like a 4 year old. She is learning to use the big girl potty. She wants to be a baby and a big kid too. She loves to go shopping, she goes along throwing things into the cart when I am not looking. Friendly, outgoing, nothing gets past Lala. She tortures Gilbert, is a picky eater and would spend her perfect day outside on the trampoline, watching Dora, and eating fruit snacks. She probably asks me over 500 questions a day. Usually the same one at least 10 times. Goodness, I don't know what any of us would do without our stubborn little Lala.

Baby is 10 months. Baby has 3 teeth, a huge jack o'lantern grin, and the most delightful laugh in the world. So much personality bundled up in such a small package. Having her around is amazing, so much joy and patience. She has found her voice, has no problem using it to express her displeasure. She doesn't let Lala get away with anything. So funny. She crawls like a bullet, stands on her own, and takes a few steps along the side of the couch. She is brave, some might say she is a little daredevil. Too funny. She says Ma-ma. It is music to my ears. Her favorite thing right now is to take a bath, she loves the water. Oh and Gilbert loves Baby. Everybody does!!
