First Day of School 2009

I don't think anyone slept well last night. We were all excited and nervous. Dear hasn't been sleeping well lately. Today was the first day of trial for him and he's got that on his mind plus working inhuman hours. Not to mention missing the first day of school with the kids.
Lala was at the foot of the bed gagging all night. Muffy was laying next to me. She was too excited to sleep. I think Baby is the only one oblivious to the excitement all around her.
Lala threw up all the way to school and back home. It took a hour in traffic just to get them there on time. And Bubba was late.
On a good note, chances are it will get better. Right? All in all it could have been much worse, I have a new respect for single moms. Dang I love these kids. They sure are fun to have around, and handy little buggers too.

Emily's Wedding

We had a great time. It was fun to be together with family. We live so far away it makes my heart hurt to leave and know it will be awhile before we are all together again. It was so wonderful to watch my kids with their cousins, they will always remember the fantastic time we had at Aunt Emily's wedding. Oh, and as a side note "those Mormon girls from Mexico can DANCE!"

First Day of School

We started our early morning scripture study again this year. It is so great to hear how my kids have progressed. They are awesome readers. Afterwards Dear had to take Oz to get registered, so I didn't have a chance to get pictures of the first day of sixth grade.

Bubba and Muffy were so excited this morning. They got up early and got ready and then helped me get Lala and Baby ready too. I sure will miss all the help while they are at school.
Muffy was so embarrassed to have her mom trying to take pictures in front of all her friends. I finally told her I wasn't leaving until she looked at me. She decided I meant it.
Bubba's teacher is new this year. She seemed a no nonsense sort of lady. The bell hadn't even rung yet and she had the kids busy. I had to get this one from the door, it's not too cool having your mom kiss you in front of the other kids when you are in the fourth grade.
Lala was VERY sad. She cried all the way home. When we got home we cried together. I bribed her with Teddy Grahams and some Dora the Explorer.
Yesterday after church Baby got herself all dressed up. She did it by herself. I couldn't believe it. My Baby is growing up too quickly. She hardly had time to stop so I could get a picture of her getup. I'm afraid to blink these days. I'm afraid if I do I might be taking her to kindergarten.

Pots of Gold

The other day Dear came home and called us all outside to see this beautiful sky. I don't know that I have ever seen such a perfect rainbow against a perfect sunset. The Darling kids were very excited and wanted to look for gold. I was very excited and took this opportunity to use my new fancy camera. I think it turned out fabulous, so I thought I would share.

Mighty Math Mind

Last night we went Bubba's third grade musical "Mighty Minds". He had a lead role and I am his mom but just let me say, he was the star of the show. Dear says he has a future in showbiz. I am so proud of him. We had some glittery number stickers to put on too, but they were accidentally left at home. He still looked really cute. He did a great job , he has some "sweet moves" for sure. This kid can sing.

tractors

Today, we went to the tractor supply store and we spent a fortune on little John Deere tractors. When I was a kid my brothers and sisters and I had a lot of little tractors and we would set up little farms. I remember playing in the dirt for hours and hours. It was so much fun changing things around "planting crops" and even "crop dusting". The one with the biggest tractor was the "boss man" and the rest of us were farm hands. We had irrigation systems. We had all the equipment necessary to run a real farm. Anyway, we bought farm tractors and the kids had a great time playing and setting up their farm. I had to go help them, of course, but we had a really good time playing in the mud.

Dear took the older kids to buy some chickens today. He came home with 15 chickens, blue wyandottes, and 3 ducks, pekin ducks. I will post pictures later. We got our first egg today. It is worth $120. Hopefully we can keep the bobcats out of the coop this time around. It will be nice to have fresh eggs again. Mom, I know you don't like them. I promise if you come visit I will buy you store bought eggs.

Flour

This is what happens when Mommy blogs.

I found them too late. They were having such a good time playing I decided to let them enjoy their mess. They played, I took pictures, we all giggled a lot. When I finished cleaning up this mess, (There is 10 lbs. of flour on the floor here my friends) I went in search of the girls. Lala was on top of the piano and Baby was nowhere to be found. After searching high and low twice, I was almost in tears. I couldn't find her. I went through searching rooms and closing doors behind me. I found her in the bathtub, with the curtain closed. I still have no idea how she got in there. How she did it without landing head first is beyond me.

Lala loves this show on Nickleodian called Ni Hoa Kilan. I guess it's the Chinese version of Dora. Kilan teaches the kids some words in Chinese. Shia (spelling?) means please I think. Kilan says, "Say shia". Lala says "shit". Over and over. I laugh and laugh. Terrible, I know. These kids are too funny.

Porky and the monkey chair

So This is Porky. So named because..........well, she looks like Porky.
Baby got a new high chair finally.
I put her in it for the first time and Lala sang happy birthday over and over.
I think she likes it. What? Nutrigrain bars and Apple juice for breakfast. Yes
I know, they are lucky little girls.
Baby cried when I took her out of the monkey chair. It is a hit!
Bubba took his Taks test yesterday. Boy, are we glad that is over with.
Dear has been busy at work. Life is crazy as always.

Tree Pictures

These are the pictures I took and posted yesterday. I tweaked them a bit. I am very happy with the result. I think I might have them printed and framed. What do you think? Still suffering from pink eye here. Now we have sore throats and stomach aches too. Good times.

Pink eye at the park

I took the kids to the park yesterday.
Baby Darling thinks her siblings are so fun.
She claps for everything!
It really was 80 degrees. Beautiful day.
This was yesterday morning.
I love pictures of trees!

So, yes I have pink eye, worse than any of my kids. I have never had it in my life. Funny that through all my years as a kid, it took having kids of my own to give it to me. They also gave me Strep throat. Nobody can ever say they are not the most giving children. I love and adore them.
I think I am on the mend though, the green goopy monster has been pooping less and less this morning. If only I could open them wide enough to actually see, that would be so great.
