The Circus

Yes, we went to the circus today. I guess if we had stayed home it still would have been like being at the circus. Bubba liked it, Lala slept through most of it, Baby loved it. She was so funny. Clapping, screaming, jumping, and when they brought out the lions and tigers I thought she would jump out of my lap she was so excited to see big kitties. Being the wonderful, together person I am, I forgot my camera. I was so sad. Our first circus experience as parents and I forgot the camera. Oh, well I will just have to store the memories away in my brain instead of my picture boxes.

Muffy had a great day with her Girl Scout troop. They had a prairie day, making butter, paper, rag dolls, quilts, and playing fun prairie games. So fun. Man, people go all out for this stuff. I spent this week making skirts, aprons, and bonnets. I am not by any means a seamstress. I can barely sew a straight line but they turned out all right. Some girls had fancy professional costumes. They all looked really cute and I think everyone had a great time.

Also this week I pretty much potty trained Lala. She was nakie most of the week but the last few days she has worn panties accident free. Yeah!!!! She even wakes up in the middle of the night to go potty. I am so proud of her. She has a pink step stool that she carries around with her everywhere. She is so proud of that thing . I am so proud of her.

This is a picture of the girls first big bath together. I cannot believe how big these kids are getting. They had a ball playing together and with their water babies. They laughed and splashed and made a huge mess. Good times.

The WallyWorld Date

I rarely shop with all of my kids. It is expensive and exasperating. They each had some money to spend and kept bothering me all day to take them to Wal-mart. I was grouchy, tired and didn't want to go anywhere. Dear was late getting home, we had eaten dinner without him. He finally came in and I suggested he stay with the little girls while I take the 3 older kids to spend their money. He didn't go for it. We did not want to go out. After much debate and some constant begging from the kids we left for Wal-mart. We don't live close to any stores. It was close to 8o'clock. On a Friday night. At Wal-mart. Crazy.
We had a ball. Muffy, Oz, and Bubba headed for the toy section. Dear and I went to look at hardware. Lala grabbed and threw things into the cart at random. Baby was just happy to be out. We all met up at different times and looked at fun stuff. We were in the books and magazine section for over an hour. So what did we get? Not one thing we needed. It was so fun.
Saturday Muffy woke up with poison ivy. She gets it so horribly. Bless her heart. I took her to the doctor and she got her shot. We spent the rest of the day moving furniture and bedrooms around. So ambitious, I know. Sunday we all cleaned the kitchen after dinner and then we sat around folding laundry and matching socks. Dear and I told tales about how life was for us growing up. We tried to one up each other on the crazy things we did. It's a toss up on who had the better stories but the kids sat there with wide eyes and ate it up. It was great. We laughed and folded for hours. Then we all went out for Ice Cream. It was a really nice time together.

When will it end?

Lala Darling is now down sick with a fever. Poor Baby. Thank Heavens for Word World. She loves it. She is so sweet and quiet when she doesn't feel well. My little Destroying Angel is taking the day off. I took away the box of Milk Duds. She says,"Mommie you make me sad." That is her new favorite phrase. Well that and, "I can't, I too little." When I ask her to do something she doesn't want to do.

Baby Darling is feeling a little better but drooling everywhere. My shirt is soaked through. She is so very grumpy. No sign of my sweet patient happy baby. Hope she comes back soon I really miss her.

Last night I went out with Dear to see how much water was in the pond. When I opened the hall closet everything came tumbling out and is still on the floor of the entryway. So that is my goal for the day, tackle the hall closet and take stuff out to the shed for the rodents who live out there to munch on. Well, that and match socks. I hate matching socks. I hate folding clothes. Dear got me a gigantic front loading washer. I was so happy. Now I hate that it holds so many clothes. Someone has to fold and put all those clothes away. Sadly, that would be me. Okay, I am stalling.

Sick/Snow Days

Today is the first day of the rest of my life! Baby Darling is sick. We went to the doctor today for the third time in a month. I told them they should set up a waiting area just for the Darling family. We are there often enough. She is teething and very unhappy about it.

Dear had a hearing this morning. He has been very busy. I have been so busy nobody had matched socks in their drawers this morning. Luckily Dear wears boots with his suits so no one will know that his socks don't match.

Last night we had our Blue and Gold banquet. Chinese New Year was the theme and it was great. I have been very busy collecting decorations and planning activities for it. So Fun! Bubba Darling earned quite a few awards and his mom is very proud of him. Personally, I do not understand the Scouting program but I think it is very good for the Darling boys to participate in scouts, they enjoy it so.

It is literally freezing here. It is March in Texas. That means snow today and 80 degrees tomorrow. I love Texas. Well, snow means no Girl Scouts or piano lessons today. Yea, for me. Muffy Darling will be so sad. She loves Girls Scouts and she is a wiz on the piano.

Unck just called and he and Aunt S. are expecting thier first little bundle of joy. I am so excited. I love nieces and nephews. Especially when I can finally pay him back for the baby bunnies he sent us for Easter. Thanks again for that Unck. We love you and are so excited for you both.
